Sketch on a Blank Comic Variant

Picked this one up off of eBay, blank.  But it arrived bent and creased.  I was pissed.  Anyway I thought I would use this one for my first comic book cover sketch.  It is very different than a sketch card but it was an okay experience.  Definitely something I want to do more of.

WorkSpace Project: Chris Thorne | Proxart

Proxart is a website that focuses on Art, Culture and Community. They have a segment called The Workspace Project and they recently featured me. :)
Chris Thorne is a Santa Clarita-based visual artist. And like most artists, he has a day job. And also like most artists, he has a nerdy side. I mean, really, what artist doesn’t like Star Wars?

Okay, back now... :) Captain America!

Okay, I kbnow I have been away for a while.  I have been busy (taxes and such) but I have some things in the hopper that I don;t think I can talk about yet, so I have been quiet.  I have been doing some commissions and some cards for the Treasure Chest of Art benefit at CECE and this is the first of those cards.

Captain America.  Circa WWII and the new Movie.  :)

Process of the Joker sketch card

It took some pics of the card as I was making it, not as many as I wanted, as I drew, I forgot to stop and take a picture.  But you get the idea of the process of pencils and colors and then finishing the colors.  I hope you like it.

Alexander Frolov

I am a hockey fan, but I don;t seem to do many sports-related sketches or sketch cards.  I am trying to change that.  I have done a few baseball sketch cards and this is my first hockey sketch.  Alex Frolov was drafted by the LA Kings but never really achieved all that was expected of him.  He is playing for the NY Rangers now.
