Watercolor Wolverine

I am really enjoying working with watercolors.  I have done a few flowers and a Clone Trooper, but this was interesting to do.  I just started putting colors down and figured I would ink out a figure after.  What do you think?  I think there are some spots with too much black but I think is has some feeling, some movement, some action.

Gronk Sketch + link to a great webcomic

This is a sketch I did of Katie Cook's "Gronk" monster.  Gronk is a nice little monster that loves cute things and is bullied by the other mean monsters.  Gronk has a cute little stuffed cat (which she cannot find in the sketch above).  If you like Katie Cook, monsters, cute things or all of the above, you really need to check out her new webcomic.

I did four sketch cards for a Cancer Benefit called ComicsForCures.com. The link below is to my sketch cards on eBay for the benefit. All of the proceeds go to American Cancer Society. If you feel so inclined, please bid as much as you can and as often as you want. All the auctions start at $0.99. Thanks.

Sketch Card trading - Oran Parker

I got a note from another sketchcard artist named Oran Parker, (Check out his site http://www.oranparker.com/ ) who wanted to know if I would trade cards with him.  After checking out his stuff, I said Yes right away.  He requested Beta-Ray Bill, Abe Lincoln and Hawkman.  None of which I had any experience with, but I thought this would be a great deal.  I had a bunch of things going on travel-wise (see Korea blog-post) so I wasn't able to get to them finished right away.  I saw the cards he did (see his blog post about the trade) and I knew I was going to need to up my game.  Anyway.  I did one of Abe Lincoln "Vampire Slayer", A raging Bill, and Golden Age Hawkman and Hawkgirl.  I did the Lincoln on tan card stock to give it a vintage feel.  I wanted the Hawkman to still feel Golden-Agey so I tried to do it in that style.  I just wanted Bill to look as pissed off as I could.  I did an earlier one, that I will post later, but in the pencils stage, I creased it doing some erasing and so I had to start over again.  I actually did another Abe, but I didn't like the feeling, so I redid it and I think this one is much much better.  I hope he likes them!

Trigger Fish Watercolor

This is a watercolor that was commissioned for a friend.  Watercolor on watercolor paper, I did finish it off with inks, but I haven't scanned it yet.

Finished Cody

I finished the Commander Cody Watercolor piece, I added ink to it.  I was very pleasantly surprised in how well it came out.  The Clone Troopers are really starting to grow on me.  Makes me wonder why the Empire got away from the clones or if there are clones in the Stormtroopers uniforms...hmm.
